Reporting for Zacharoto... August 68th!
Counting days from August 1st is a common joke between Greeks these last days. Aside from a couple of days in the beginning of September, good weather is all we have experienced this Fall.
Could this be the longest summer ever?
Could it be that someone up there is feeling sorry for most Greeks, who cannot afford heating this forthcoming winter, due to the economic crisis and is giving us an extension of good weather? Could it be the global warming phenomenon that is driving our planet crazy -an extremely cold winter followed by a long summer? (What have we done to our planet???)
Whatever the reason, we are enjoying swimming in the sea, open air cinemas and cafes, welcoming tourists and saving on heating. Winter will be here soon, so let's take today to celebrate our long Greek summer!

Fingers crossed it will last a little longer (for the sake of our island hoppers!)...
